Though Dimple, wife of UP Chief Minister Akhilesh, had won the Kannuaj Lok Sabha seat in 2014 by a margin of 19,907 by defeating her nearest BJP rival Subrat Pathak, the former had trailed behind the latter in the Bidhuna assembly segment by 10422 votes.
